About the race
It is one of the hardest 100-milers in the world, at high altitude in the San Juan Mountains.
Best for experienced ultrarunners.
Training for it
Trail races reward time on your feet and climbing more than road speed. Train on terrain like the course.
- Build your long runs by time rather than distance.
- Practise hiking the steep climbs and running the descents.
- Check the mandatory kit list early and train with that kit on.
