The route

Ride through the first and second sections of the Bosque de Chapultepec.

Metro stations Chapultepec (Line 1), Auditorio and Constituyentes (Line 7) serve the park. You can use Ecobici public bikes with a pass bought in the Ecobici app.

Permits and fees

The first section opens Tuesday to Sunday, 5:00-18:00, and closes on Mondays for maintenance; the second to fourth sections are open every day. An Ecobici 24-hour pass cost MXN 134 on the official site in 2026, with each trip limited to 45 minutes.

Before you go

  • Each standard Ecobici trip is capped at 45 minutes, so plan to dock and take a new bike on longer rides.
  • Cablebús Line 3 links all four sections in about 21 minutes if you want an overview first.
  • The first section is fenced and its gates close at night, so finish there before 18:00.

What to bring

  • Helmet
  • Spare tube, tyre levers and a pump
  • Water and snacks
  • Front and rear lights
  • A layer for descents and stops

Getting ready for it

Time in the saddle matters more than speed.

If you have not ridden for a while, do two or three rides of an hour or two first so your legs and your seat are used to it.

Staying safe

  • Wear bright clothing and use lights wherever there is traffic.
  • Check your brakes and tyres before you leave.
