Copenhagen Harbor Bike Ride
You cycle a 13 km waterfront circuit from Nyhavn through Christianshavn and Islands Brygge, past the Black Diamond library and Kalvebod Brygge to Sydhavn, crossing the harbour on the Inner Harbour Bridge, the Circle Bridge and the Bicycle Snake.

The route
The Harbour Circle (Havneringen).
Start at Nyhavn in the city centre. Rent a bike from a shop such as beCopenhagen or use the Bycyklen city bikes.
Before you go
- You can shorten the loop at several points by crossing one of the cycle bridges.
- Bring swimwear: harbour baths on the route include Islands Brygge, Sluseholmen, Fisketorvet and Kalvebod Bølge.
- The harbour bus stops at several points along the route.
- Keep right unless overtaking, signal before stopping or turning, and turn left in two stages at junctions.

- A layer for descents and stops
Getting ready for it
Time in the saddle matters more than speed.
If you have not ridden for a while, do two or three rides of an hour or two first so your legs and your seat are used to it.
Staying safe
- Use lights after dark, as Copenhagen's bike rules require.
- Wear bright clothing and use lights wherever there is traffic.
- Check your brakes and tyres before you leave.
